Hello and Bon appétit!
I write about all things edible and juicy! My focus is on flavour and using less sugar and salt. I’m passionate about food, and about inspiring you to taste new flavours and ingredients.
I hope I can inspire you to create delicious, happy, food in your own kitchen through my blog, food writing, and photography.
My emphasis is on eating a variety of food types, flavours, and textures.
Food is a passport to other cultures, and it connects us with Nature, and each other – I hope you’ll journey with me.
What we eat has the power to connect us, and nurture us, as well as sustain us – it is our ‘soul fuel’.
Now I’m going to plug my cookbook … 🙂
My first cookbook, SOULiCiOUS, is all about soul food. It offers a fresh take on America’s oldest and most influential cuisine – African American Soul Food. From Collard Greens and Cornbread to Cajun-style Salmon, to Blackberry Cobbler and Lemon Icebox Pie, it shares 70 soul food recipes. I’ve reduced the sugar and salt, but not the flavours.
SOULiCiOUS – Recipes and interviews from a Soul Food journey to the USA.
ISBN 978-0-9873383-0-3 and is available to purchase here online
I am currently writing another cookbook to be released in 2016-2017.
